A Diamond Story
A few years ago, Jurgen went on holiday to Tanzania, the only place on earth where you can find “Tanzanite”.This gemstone is mined in the hills of Mount Kilimanjaro and is about 1000 times rarer than diamonds. He came home with a few beautiful pieces.
Marie-Jeanne, Jurgen’s mother-in-law, always had a liking for a particular blue-purplish stone. As her 65th birthday was coming up, Jurgen and his fiancée Vanessa wanted to co-create a custom-made ring around her favourite tanzanite as a birthday present.
"I had co-created the engagement ring for Vanessa with UNTOLD and enjoyed the whole process and personal approach. We decided to combine the stone with diamonds and blue sapphires, polished as brilliant cuts."
On her birthday, they had hidden the ring in a gift-wrapped cooking pot, knowing that Marie-Jeanne really doesn’t like kitchenware as a gift.
As predicted, the disappointment when receiving her present was written on her face. When Marie-Jeanne finally opened the pot and found this hidden treasure she was overwhelmed with emotions.
